The 'Mako' is our Low voiume All round foil  board - Designed for high water speed and stability in disturbed waters, This Board offers the rider more connection to foil than the 'Raven' at the expense of volume. The Mako is flatter along its entire waterline, intruducing more speed and less drag - It bounces without the need for bevels - as its designed to be ridden at around 5-10 litres less than the rider weight.

The board has been designed  for upwind and downwind Parawing - We've managed to keep much of the high speed glide of the Raven series by and adding a longer/ flatter rail line..

FOIL TECH - All Boards Come with  Full Deck Grip

SPECS

Typical Weights of the boards with Deck grip fitted is around 5.1kgs. Construction is EPS foam Sandwich with HD Foam TWIN stringers.

MAST BOX

Were using a Foil Tech 450mm Track box, sunken into a 120cm long High density Twin rail track HD Foam rail  that runs right through to the deck for Ultimate connection to foil and board strength and Stiffness.

CONSTRUCTION : Biaxial Twin weave Stitched Carbon Fibre - Not to be confused with typical 'Twill' carbon fibre - The Biax we use is stiffer / stronger than any other substance on the planet. Its expensive and hard to work with. But its stiffness is INSANE.

Vent Plugs included in all boards, as well as a rear leash plug. Foot straps / Foot strap inserts add weight and are able to be added in if desired - See the sales options on the listing for 'extras' - If your adding footstraps we need accurate measurements of your stance and ride positioning of your feet.

TO RIDE - WHATS DIFFERENT?

Swing weight is almost un-noticable as these boards place the rider almost midships, If anything the length works toward straightening out your pump swing issues ...

WIND GUIDE

LIGHT WIND WING GUIDE

Parawing these boards shows them to be very very slippery in even light wind - the fastest on the water being the longest.

OVERPOWERED on a PARAWING

Its easy to mismatch your Parawing size to the wind strength when learning to parawing.

With a lifetime of wind sports experience,  Nowdays Im up and  flying when its around 15 - 18 knots on a 3.5m FONE  Frigate Parawing, Typically Im achieving this light wind takeoff by moving up to my biggest board - ( 6'10 Raven board) And I'll,combined this with a 1090 WING and 170 tail. I have to work the bumps downwind to get up on foil, but its nice to turn into the wind and not be overpowered upwind.

Once it Hits over 20 Knots, Im still on the 3.5 FRigate Parawing, But Ive moved to a 6'6 Raven board - still on the same foil (1090 x 170 Tail) as the bumps are still pretty slow.

Once it hits over 25Knots, Im on the 6'0 Board, and Switching down to a FONE eagle 890 or 900 eagle X for speed. - and Im dropping the parawing size to 3m.

I believe The Key to successfull upwind downwind  parawinging is to change your board sizes in accordance with wind strength - rather than the parawings... Stronger the wind, smaller the board and the harder you can rip turns... OW YEAH.

A Harness makes a huge difference to your upwind sailing on the Para.

Any bump action at all underfoot makes a massive difference to that push required to get your- board speed up.

You may ask - why not just ride a DW board?

Totally - you can. DW boards give you the water speed - The Downside to a DW board is their 'tracking'.

The desired Tracking Built into the shapes of DW board help you to paddle them straight, Unfortunatly for Parawing riders, the inconsistent pull on the parawing requires constant balance adjustments left and right to keep your balance while gettting ready to fly on foil.
