'2026 -The Raven'
​
The new 'Raven' design for 2026 has come about as a second season of Parawinging experience pushes foiling into new realms... Combining 'sink' pump skills with streamlined and tangle free nose profiles while leaning on the lessons learned on the Mako boards - we designed the Raven from scratch to pack big litres into a much shorter board. We'd Loosley describe it as the 'Alpha' Mid Length. Its curvy outline belies its on water glide. One of the lightest and stiffest boards on the market, its a pump / connect weapon - The wider bulbous forward nose (Coming from the success of the 'Unicorn') and inverted lifted tail line stability gained from ('Frank DW") the Raven Deck runs into a deep / wide deck concave - ("Sky Solbach") and a wider splayed tail allowing excellent rear push assistance from available bumps. Shaped in customizable varients from 55 Litres UP - This is a progress enhancing high performance Pump - surf style, wing, prone and Parawing board. Its a hard board to leave in the car - even if you have a discipline specific quiver. It borrows design elements from inspirational shapers of our day and the proven successful elements of the boards that worked in the past.

"2025 - The Mako'
​
The introduction of the Parawing to the wind sports world in early 2025 pushed us to design the Mako... We tried our wing wing boards and they totally sucked. We tried our DW boards and they sucked too but for different reasons... We needed something that picked up the best points of both (but in one board) so we designed the 'Mako' It was a shorter high performance DW board, with a tighter turning length but maintaining the DW glide without the tracking.
With a wide point more central and flatter rocker curves for speed and forgiving ' Skate' rail lines we shaped the board for the highest water speed possible. Typical sizes were around the 6'6 in length - with volumes of between 80- 92 Litres for the Advanced Rider.
The rocker shapes were fairly flat with squarer chined rails allowing reactive response skid steering while dogging and trying to get on foil - It was deemed important to stay on your feet with crazy parawing behaviour providing little reliable stability...
1st season Parawing riders enjoyed the boards stability, water speed and easy riding, Nowdays with the Raven taking the reins for the 2nd season Parawinger... The Mako finds its feet on lighter wind Wing foiling days and remains a great starting board for riders with wing wing skills coming over to parawing. Pump Connect was a major, foil track boxes moved forward with rider stance positioned mid ships. The Mako pumped and rode on foil like a super stable prone board. Simply amazing.
Marked in time for us as the first 'big board' with Effortless glide and pump range on foil. It was the only board I needed to own in 2024, We built the mako lines into DW board, Prone board, Wing Boards and Parawing Boards, Even a SUP.

'2024 - The Unicorn '
The 'Unicorn's' design was borne from Prone and Wing foiling disciplines. Its a travel board, and as close as you can come to a 1 board quiver... With HD foam stringers adding stiffness to its lightweight foundations - we re-invented the Prone board into a half way prone, sinker Wind Wing rocketship.
The Goal was a board you wanted to ride in all disciplines... if you could... What it did do was name and introduce the 'unicorn' as a board to have in the car for etow, Tow in, Heavy wind Wing and Para and an easy paddler for Prone.
Available in sizes from 25 - 55 Litres .

Coming from a surfboard / surfer background - On water - In days gone by - The Relationships a surfer had with his shaper was mega importand - delivering progression and tuition - helping riders progress...
That important relationship has diminished with many foilers making huge mistakes taking 'broad' advice from social media or pro riders - its all good advice of course, but how tailored to YOU can it be if its generic... The right advice for a ripper foiler, isprobably terrible advice for an intermediate carrying a bit of weight... Hahahah.. Yeah were all there for a while.
A professional shaper will design and hone their 'Perfect' shape into a perfect board for their region, conditions and skill set according to local requirements - then modify that perfect 'pattern' to deliver the right board to the customer / rider according to where they ride, how they ride and their challenges to overcome. Most will have a 'template' that is worn and used time and time again.
At hs Foil, we believe we stumbled upon the 'Perfect' recipe in Our board designs across the three varients above, the Raven, Mako and Unicorn after many experiments with combinations of length, width, sails, wings, parawings, efoils, Prone paddle up, whitewater starts, DW paddle up and SUP paddle up...

Globally - If a shaper gets an edge - it appears litterally everywhere thereafter, There is no respect for I.P. and why would there be? The reality is that nobody makes surfboards to make money... Its a passion and a love to ride.
