About eTow Demo Sessions
'eTow' is a name given to a small electric boat operated by remote control - They can gently pull up your chosen foil board like a really small ski boat.
etow have very little prop wash - so foil flight is stable and controlled. They Stop almost instantly when off the throttle, or the remote contol goes underwater - with little weight -they also have little momentum - stopping as you fall - unlike a boat which must slow down over a distance then turn around and come back and get you.

For Learners :
Our local foiling pro can give you some tuition on how to safely get up on foil and steer yourself The Fundamental skills required to be a foiler are huge, you will get more 'take off' practice with an etow in hours than you could achieve in the surf on or a wing wing in weeks.

etow board speeds during Learners demos are typically about 10 -15kmph - We keep it slow - The Demo Foils are provided - They are big and blunt and the boards are as big and stable as we can get.

For Intermediate and Advanced Foilers:
eTow is very usefull for cross training and to test new foils and boards in a controlled environment, as well as launcher units to 'chip in' to wakes and waves. They are great fun in heaps of conditions to learn to link , pump, connect and glide.

If your already pushing speed limits with your foiling skill set - whip on the etow will send you at speeds over 35kmph.

Common Questions
Why is Learning to Wing, Parawing or Surf foil easier with an etow?
The Reality is that a R E A L L Y wide Skill set is required to Wing ,Parawing or Surf on Foil. You have to combine Board, Wind Wing, Wind skills, Balance and Foil Flight skills simultaniously to start successfully winging. Mistakes will result in injury. And thats time out of the water.
Its just easier to to start in any foiling discipline with an etow becasue the rope delivers at least some kind of sturdy 'Handle' to help control the pitch balance that you just don't have till your experienced. Its slow controlled speed is powerfull and steady. No surprises and no boat prop wash.
Hopefully your going to try an etow alongside a foiling pro who can also deliver some safety tips on how to fall off your board , and help accellerate your take up of this amazing sport.
Once flight on foil is established, Its up to you to continue your journey with maximum time on foil being the goal, be it in the surf (prone) or wind powered, (Wing, Parawing, Sail) or Powered, (efoil, Foil drive etow).
